About
This blog is hosted and written by Droichead Arts Centre, which has established itself as a significant venue for theatre, live music, film, visual arts and community arts in Drogheda and surrounds.
Droichead Arts Centre is a small, independently run Arts Centre situated in the centre of Drogheda. The organisation celebrates 20 years in existence. It was originally opened in Scholes Lanes, in 1989 and moved to its current site, The Municipal Centre, Stockwell Street in 1994. Droichead, with the assistance of European funding and fund-raising, purchased Barlow House in 1999. This fine Georgian Building that once served as the Garda Station, now functions as a vibrant cultural centre in the town.
This blog was initiated to share interesting information about art and culture, to stimulate discussion and reflection, but mostly to create an online dialogue with our audience. We hope to indulge you in our vibrant artistic world and we wish to engage you in our comings and goings.
On this blog you will be able to find information about upcoming events, interviews with artists, news, trips and activities that the Droichead team are involved in.
